Carrie's Bio

cgrg.jpg

I was born in Philadelphia; Pennsylvania and the year shall remain a secret for now. (When you read my book, you can do the math.)

I had a colorful childhood and was always entertaining to my many friends.

I attended Upper Moreland High School where I played lacrosse and spun around rifles for the marching band, I also did some pretty crazy stuff.

After graduation, I attended Bloomsburg University. I continued to play lacrosse, rushed a sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau, and again did some pretty crazy shit. At 19 I became front page news in the Morning Press for all the wrong reasons.

After graduating college, I worked in a few going nowhere jobs, but managed to find my first (and only) ex-husband. We moved to Texas in 1996 and lived there for 9 years. In that span of time, I had my first son Max in 1999, separated from my husband, went back to my husband and had my second son Jack in 2004.

In 2005, we all relocated to Fort Lauderdale. Within a few weeks of moving, we survived a category 3 hurricane that left us without power for almost a month. My marriage, however, did not survive. I threw all of my energy into my boys, got myself a house and an awesome new job. I thrived.

A few years later, I went through a heartbreaking relationship and that experience got me to writing. I have always enjoyed music and books and wrote many a poem in my youth. I absolutely loved and still do love words. I have learned many lessons over the past few years. I was in a very dark place for some time, and I thank God that I am still here. Writing got me to the other side.

Through pain I have grown stronger, wiser and have channeled my inner Badass. I have two new books coming out soon and ready to work on the next chapter of my life and next book.
